Kob,

Your post made a lot of sense to me and I too have been rejected from jobs that I have felt 110% were mine.

Sometimes you just have to accept at starting a level down and then building up. When we met in Brighton I thought you would be OK and glad that it the case (even though could be better).

Long Neck,

I think you will find that if you talk to Thias that do not drink then they will exthol the virtues of those in the same vein and slag down those that imbibe the brain toxic alcohol, hic!

I don't think observing the behavioural patterns of a few bargirls through the bottom of a beer bottle could form a solid basis for understanding the Thai race. Wink

Thank you for youe posts. I still remember when I was work in Sainsbury's i was happy even hard work, that's not the problem to me,like you said start from level down and then we will building up for next level, just remember don't stop your dream, I also love and happy with my current job, just little get fat even work hard, because have to sit on a chair all the time, not too much walk like in Sainsbury's... Big Grin Razzer

Now I also in the ESOL class, I just want to improve my English and when everthing in contorl I will do next plan and learn other crouse to help and suport for the future.

Chris, Neither me or my fluent Thai pal drink, you are making an incorrect assumption.

As for my comment about how Thais think I was looking for a clue or an undertsnading stating can we ever understand, I did not say lisetening to a few bar girls would give me an insight into how Thais think.

regards

Long necker

Kob,

Funny enough I was in my local Sainsburys and I went to a checkout with an oreintal lady working, I asked if she was Thai- She was not she was from the Phillipines we had a convertaion about Tagallo (Language in Phillipines) and adobe the national dish, I used to date a Phillipion lady for 2 years.

Also a mate of mine say there are a lot of Thai ladys in
Sanisburys in Sunbury- West London.

YOu seem to have a positive yet patient approach, you will succeed.

cheers

Longe Necker

Black Gull,

If this forum is anythingto go by they say Thais are lazy,
I know thats a stupid general thing to say, but that seem to be the collective view.

Whenever I have been to Thailand people seem industrious, but i have never lived there more than a month

All I can say is if you get up a 5am and take a look near my in-laws it,s totally different, also Thai's work slower the pace of life is slower, I think peronally it is the heat, because you may not see them running around at a million miles an hour, but they seem to do it all the same.

No rush, is what can be percieved by the average falang to be lazy, which IMO, is way off the mark.

I'm there

The Thai,s I know are anything but lazy!
They have a slower way of doing things(like Bryn says..its hard to do things quickly in their climate)but the crowd I know are always looking at ways of making a good honest baht.
Example; A policewoman I know(Poos best friend)does her day job;then runs the families 2 clothes stalls plus a shop every night..finishing at 10pm every night.
Plus 2 times every week she will get up at 4am to buy her stock from bangkok!

There are considerably more graduates in the UK than in Thailand - one reason why a degree ( from anywhere ) doesnt carry as much weight -

As for finding work, in London the ability to speak 'decent' English will be seen as an advantage - most other places a slight disadvantage!

As for Thai ladies getting work in the uk.My wife got a job within 3 days of coming to the Uk,ok its only a kitchen assist posision in a nursing home at £5.50 an hour but its 40 hours a week and its close so she can walk there.I agree with her when she says better not to aim to high (or "go big" as she says)and do what you can to start with because something is better than nothing("better have work than no have"in her words). We know a few Thai ladies living hear that have been looking for work for months(one for over a year)looking for work in the banking sector, which lets face it ain't gonna be easy...Mark.
