We were in Birmingham City Centre yesterday, first having lunch at "The Big Wok" .... highly recommended and so cheap ... and then into the shopping area.

Anyway, in Corporation Street and in particular into Beatties. The new owner of Beatties has announced that the shop is closing in January, and therefore we are clearly talking about short-term employment here ... but .... big posters on the windows near the entrance asking for staff such as .... shop assistants .... catering (for café and restaurant).

Looking round the shop it is clear that many of the permanent staff have voted with their feet and already left. No doubt quite a number of vacancies, especially running up to the busy Christmas period.

So anyone living within travelling distance of Birmingham City Centre who is looking for that sort of work, even just to get a first job in the UK, don't overlook these short-term vacancies. Always easier to get a second, third etc job in the UK than the first .... and say three months job would give experience of working here.
