When in LOS I enjoy the BBQ pork on sticks with somtam and sticky rice. Does anyone know the recipe for the pork? I have tried along with the missus and got fairly close but it is not perfect. Can anyone help??

My recipe of BBQ pork (Moo Yang):
Ingredients: 1/2 kilo pork filet 1 tablespoon light brown sugar 1 tablespoon nampla (fish sauce) 1 tablespoon sweet dark soy sauce 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 3 cloves garlic 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon minced coriander stick skewers Method: Cut the pork into 2x2 inches squares. Pound coriander, pepper, salt and garlic together. Mix with pork, oil, all sauce together. Marinate for one hour. Thread 3 pieces of pork on the stick. Cook over charcoal until the pork is well-done. Arrange on a serving plate. Serve with papaya salad (som tum), and steamed sticky rice. Jenny |

I asked a similar Q a few months ago but mine was for chicken on sticks.
Type in Satay on find/search and you will find the recipe and cooking instructions. I thought its name was Satay, but that could be for the pork. Good luck. Cheers/Kob Khun, Ron-Tik. |

Satay (สะเต๊ะ) and BBQ pork (หมูปิ้ง) are different. Satay has yellow curry powder and a bit of coconut milk in the ingredients. I think BBQ pork on stick that Neil & Mook mentioned is not Satay. P'Jenny has the correct recipe. Humm...Yummy
