Agreed. Jasmine rice or Basmati if you're stuck. Rinse well a couple of times in cold water and add equal amounts of water to rice, 1 cup to 1 cup. If it doesn't work, your rice cooker's knackered.

I just have little idea aboth skin non stick at the bottom of rise pot,
If the hob is electrict that easy to non stick.

Put rice and water ( over rice )
Boil rice in couple minute until rice looking change and turn heat down little bit ( about 5-6 )and keep stiring.
turn heat down to 3, when see the lavel of water drop down. and little stiring.
Turn heat down to 1 or 2 with cover the rice pot.
Wait for couple minute ( about 5 minutes ) turn off the hob, but don't move the pot from the hob, and don't open the lid because stream inside the pot will working and skin won't stick at bottom of the rice pot.

I always do this way before i got electrict pot rice.

hope that can be little help.
By the way I used any rice that I can get, but I prefer Jasmin Thai Rice because have lovely smell good trst.

Hi Andy.

When the rice was cooked did you leave the rice cooker plugged in?

If so it might be the problem like mine, i used to

leave the plug in the socket.

Now I take off the plug when the rice is cooked and now my rice is always ok.

Good luck.

The rice type shouln't matter too much. My wife only uses Jasmine, but a [Thai] friend of ours much prefers American long grain, matter of choice I suppose. Anyway they both cook all right!

Starch is your skin you need to wash american rice two or three times before cooking.

jasmine rice high grade 5 star will be full polished and need no washing, tolly boy and tilda veetee etc are 3 star these need washing to clean off starch.

basmati is often used in the thai restraunt trade as its
good and easy to cook, restraunts often use old rice that is very dry this takes in the water, new crop is softer
and breaks up with too much water.

Most Indian or Pakistani grocers sell Thai rice in 10kg bags, at least round here they do.
