could anyone offer an opinion on this?
I will be a dual passport holder soon ( Aussie and Brit) If I wanted to live in Thailand "Medium term" could I do visa runs and swap my passport each time?? Eg go for 3 months on the Aussie then another 3 months on the Brit? any opinions greatly received Thanks Skippy |

What benefit are you trying to achieve by doing that Skip?

Sounds messy to me. Possible to get away with it in theory but I wouldn't like to chance it. Do you think the consequences of being caught, deliberately trying to beat the 90 day rule, are worth saving a few quid for?
I'd just get a visa from a Thai Consulate in the UK if I were you. The 90 day rule won't then apply as it only affects people with a visa on arrival. A 6 months multi tourist visa would involve visa runs every 60 days, then either a trip to a neighbouring country's Thai Consulate when it expires to apply for another tourist visa, or an extension application at a Thai Immigration Office. ... or, probably MUCH easier (and cheaper in the long run), a 12 months multi non-O, which would simply mean crossing a border and coming back again every 90 days, no worries. Okay - I get the picture.
So regardless of which nationality I am/use the "rights" are they same ie Brits don't get a better deal than Aussies or vice versa? - Skippy |

For entering Thailand without a visa, both Aussies and Brits are eligible for the same 30 day tourist visa on arrival. The 90 day rule also applies to both. Not recommended if you want to stay for 6 months.
If you get a multiple entry Thai visa in advance on your Aussie passport and go on visa runs to Laos, you'll save US$5 per trip. Aussies pay $30 for a Laos visa, Brits pay $35. The reward for building a bridge Paul พอล เข้าเมืองตาหลิ่วต้องหลิ่วตาตาม |

but if the Brits had built the bridge wouldn't we all be paying $70? (and you'd have to wait 2 more years before it would be completed)

Skippy,
Why not just get a Thai visa for a year? It would save a lot of screwing around! Bill |
