How much do you get for this stuff in the market? any idea

this depends on many factors, Sweetness, size, taste.
You can pay 80/90 baht per kilo for the real mccoy, and as little as 30 baht per kilo for the short fat ones.

Weather today is hot.
Gonna nip down the farm in a bit and plant some stuff.
Enjoyed the beef stew Mervyn, went well with my mashed spuds.

I think chillies could be a good thing to plant,it provides an income every week, and if you have access to water then the plants should last a year.
Right, gonna gets some toast and jam, and head off.
see you later.

A bit more on prices as I buy to take down to friends that ask for the stuff in Pattaya always goes down well with the girls one barbeer owner always has an order for 5kg each time I go down for his girls at the bar.
Prices for the best macarm on the road side go up to 140thb in Phetchabun but also the crap stuff still sells at about 80/90thb in Pattaya. A lot of the crap pods are made into the seedless wraps by the way and sell for about 20thb per 250gram

Weather today hot.
Went into town this morning and got me some supplies, also bought some spring onion seed and a few koi carp to cheer up the lake.
Then did a spot of fishing.
Been informed today that the chickens will be going to the necking place on the 13th march. That means we will have reared them for 43 days, which is the optimum weight vs food costs so hopefully a nice profit.
Well thats all i did today.
Leos cooling in fridge, waiting till dusk to open a few.

Thanks Bryn what a lovely gesture but hang on yourself a moment, have you thought how ironic that is ?

Giving a chicken to Mr Allcock, is this some sort of new genetic engineering experiment.

BTW the wife calls me Mr Allgai Big Grin

weather was indeed hot today, but over the last week or so, pretty strong winds at night, like now.
Anyway, this morning put the MIL's Motor cike, in the back of the truck and dropped it off for some repairs, gears clunky, no front brake, I had been putting it off , hoping for an accicident... Not really, sorry "YAI" anyyway, dropped it off and came back to the farm, planted a million spring onion seed, well actually that's not correct, scattered a million seeds would be more factual. After which,,,,, seeing as it is the weekend , I allowed my self a spot of .............
Fill in the blanks chaps Smiler
Now just having a beer or 2 and I am loving it here.
cheers all.

Got a phone call yestreday that the Motor cike was ready for collection, so off THEY went to collect it, No farang in sight.
New rear tyre, new Battery, new front brake cable, new speedo cable, new little basket thingy on the front, indicators now work, and now you can select the gears properly.
So what do you think all that cost? 990 baht. Do you think we were ripped off! ? Wink
Any way weather today is hot and a bit hazy.
Going to be a bit busy day today, the vet is coming to take a few routine swabs and pee and poo samples, not from me, from the chickens.
Also someone from the farming side of the gov't is coming out as well, I have to put a big post and rail fence around the perimeter of the chicken shed, and a couple more buildings need to be erected,This is to renew our licence which expires in May, and also bring us up to date with current EU legislation relating to chicken stuff.
A couple of my mates might be nipping over as well, and my new gardener/handyman is coming to cut some grass and other stuff.
A few more rows of chillies will be planted late in the afternoon, when it gets a bit cooler.
Gonna try and not have a beer tonight,I don't know why but there you go.
I will report back later.
cheers

Just a comment on work permits what first hand experience do you have on work permits and their requirements up country (that is outside the main falang areas of Thailand)just curious because I know of many that do not have such permits and have no problem one falang guy even works at the police station

Are you saying work permits are not required for falang to work in Thailand? Or are you saying falang can now legally work only in up-country Thailand without work permits?

BTW my post to Bryn was tongue-in-cheek in reference to his earlier comments about work permits and not being able to work.

As you know, this forum prides itself on the quality and accuracy of the information provided so please do provide more information about work permit requirements and how they apply up-country. We certainly wouldn't want to let members think they can legally work in Thailand without a work permit if that is not the case and expose them to sanction.
