I am going out to LOS in 2 weeks with a view to purchasing a property. Now in the uk I would go to the bank with 30% TO 40% deposit and ask for a buy to let mortgage . My question is do they do such a thing in LOS. The reason I ask is that I ony have 1.2mill baht and would like to purchase something for around 2.5 to 3 mill baht .I would obvusley have to open a joint accout with my wife and the house would be registered in her name.
Hs anyone done this or tried, the way I see it is, if we can get a mortgage or loan over 20 years of say 2 mill baht we would pay back each month 14000 per month but the rent would be 2100 baht per month.

with regards to your mortgage question. bangkok bank in singapore is the only bank to lend money at this moment.can be anywhere between 50-70 per cent of house value. they will require letter from your bank. letter from your employer,6 months bank statements last two years p60 and file from uk credit reference agency.i think thats it but you shoukd be able to check on their website

Cheers I will look into that immediatley. I cant supply a p60 as I have worked for myself for the last 10 years but cansupply everything else and will type up a "buisness plan"type proposal with rentable income forecasts. All the rest should be no problem I will have to go and see my bank manager and discuss it with him
