Just to let anybody interested that I have found a great navigation map that links into GPS easily - Mappointasia.com sell on line at 950 baht the map on a cd you can order it by post and pay at any ATM machine plus they sell the antenna (but I got mine from UK along with a car charger for my laptop) that plugs into USB easy to set up and great to use no more relying on Thai directions. Laptop in the car and all the small roads shown although the map is 2002 (latest one available). Bangkok is now a doddle so are hold ups on the major roads you can find a way round. Places of interest and lots of other bits are shown even hotels and guest houses in the more remote places. Sorry one other thing all in English or Thai language and to run the map system you need a cd player on the laptop but no floppy disk needeed like other systems.
I cant say about PDA although their web site says yes and there is a function to save a map to PDA. If it works or not I wouldn't know as I aint got one. Works ok on a laptop though web site

I wonder how long it will be when you can have a dash mounted system, a laptop in the front is a bit Heath Robinson.
