I was planning to bring my hard drive from Thailand to UK when I move back as I won't initially have money for a new computer.
However, I've just read that computers are prohibited as checked baggage on airlines. Does anyone know if I can bring it as hand luggage? Thanks J |

I can't see this being a problem.
I have travelled with Hard Drives in a Laptop Bag (either in external enclosures or not), many times both to the Far East and USA. I'd think a delicate Hard Drive is better in hand-luggage anyway. Hope this helps, Graham |

First time I've heard of computers not being allowed as checked baggage.
If they are then they need to get their systems checked because I've transported several over the last few years. |

I don't think this is true, but your best bet is to check with your airline prior to travelling. |

A couple of years ago, a friend traveled to South America. He packed his laptop in his check-in luggage. It disappeared. Be careful!
