Last time I checked prices were generally about the same, or slightly cheaper in Thailand.
If Thailand is to be their home, buy them in Thailand as the manuals are likely to be in both Thai and English, as will the mobile phone's keypad and internal software. They will also be a lot easier to take back to where they were purchased for any warranty issues. Paul พอล เข้าเมืองตาหลิ่วต้องหลิ่วตาตาม |

Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but I picked up a N95 'copy', made by Miso, a Thai company, from tuk com in Pattaya when I was there at Christmas.
http://www.misothailand.com/aboutus_eng.html Plays mp3's, mp4's, has 1 Gb ram on board, and can put a 1Gb chip in as well - touch sensitive screen, manuals in Thai and english (sort of). Camera is 1.3 Megapixel (not very good), and its got bluetooth. Oh, and it takes 2 SIM cards. So far I'm impressed with it. Cost me 5700 baht after discount. A LOT cheaper than a real N95 at around 28,000 baht !!! and all I went looking for was a replacement for my really old Nokia I'm not bothered about the camera, the rest of it works fine. Obviously it doesn't have the power & facilities of a real N95, but for the price I think it's a cracker. Hope this helps Mike & Nea Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day - Give him the 'Net and he'll surf forever |

aaaaaah but does the n95 copy allow you to ebay on the toilet or check your bank balance whilst on the oblivion at alton towers?
talking of power..... the original n95 has a habit of using all its power over the course of a days use anyway |

Still Checking In |
I've always found, when it comes to "electronic" goods that it would be better to buy in Hong Kong, the UK then Thailand in order of preference. However comparing the UK to Thailamd, the prices will be very similar with like for like, but it is the "add-ons" that you get in Thailand that make it more advantageous buying there. The only thing electronic that I have bought in Thailand that couldn't get for a better price in the UK was a Panasonic 5.1 Digital Hifi that had a 5 DVD changer built in and was the size of a mini/micro hifi here. It was a bargain and watching DVDs with the Dolby Digital Sound is incredible, it may also be an advantage that it is a few years old and used to a hotter and more humid climate. If you can get goods in Hong Kong though you would be wondering why on earth anyone would be considering buying elsewhere.

Axel, unfortunately, no it doesn't, (although why you'd want to do those things escapes me - the toilet is for magazines The copy needs charging about twice a week if you have the bluetooth on, and about every 5 days without it. Obviously it doesn't have the computing power of the real thing. The manual says 2 to 3 hrs talk time and 50 to 120 hours standby. Whatever you decide check this web site out for memory cards, there in Jersey so you don’t pay the VAT, don’t bother with memory cards in LOS there usually fakes and more expensive.
With a STD mobile you will need memory cards to use MP3 and camera. http://www.mymemory.co.uk/ |

each unto his own ...
I guess if I had real internet on the phone I'd use it, but haven't found the need - I've internet at work, and home is only 10 minutes drive away. I don't fret about being disconnected for that time. When I'm at home, the computer's never off though. My sad is just different from yours Mike & Nea Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day - Give him the 'Net and he'll surf forever |
