sorry if this sounds a bit cheeky to ask......but the lady has a nasty virus on her laptop. "troj_vundo.go".
Online trend won,t shift it and nor will sophos.
Apparently it needs manual deletion............anyone got any ideas how

Aka Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Agent.bdg (Kaspersky), Vundo.dr (McAfee), Trojan.Vundo (Symantec), TR/Crypt.ULPM.Gen (Avira)

Have you tried VundoFix. Download here

yes i have now and it worked although i,m getting an error message on startup telling me that a dll file is missing although everything seems improved.
Castlecops really is useful. I,m still trying to get rid of some malware with limited success. Popup adverts everywhere.
I have done a scan with hijack this but not sure about what i,m looking at. Its a very long list.

If you haven't already, your best bet is to firstly follow the CastleCops Malware Removal and Prevention (MRP). That will catch a lot of the low hanging fruit.
Follow it to the letter. Yes, it can be tedious and time consuming but it does get rid of a fair bit of malware.

If the problems persist, then post your HJT logs on the HJT logs forum.

If you don't want to wait for a forum reply (can take a while as they are all volunteers), then Google can be your friend. Search each entry in your HJT log in Google but use the "site:" operand. I.e. AXEL.DAV site:castlecops.com
Example

That'll help identify if certain processes are malware.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Packpao

P.S. Just come across a link to this site. Haven't used it myself so can't recommend either way.
