Hi all
Having installed a PC for Pook's kids, I/m going to connect my bluetooth phone up to it to see if I can manage a bit of surfing (no landline). I have a Thai pay as you go SIM card. Has anyone succeeded in doing this ? And if so can you suggest a reasonable ISP, and where to get their installation CD |

Hi John,
I use CS Loxinfo and service is usually pretty good. If you're dialing up from your GSM phone, you'll probably only get 9.6kbps so don't expect anything much. I don' think any of the Thai networks implemented HSCSD which gives higher dial-up speeds (up to 28.8 IIRC). CS Lox cards are availble from 7-Elevens and other convenience stores nationwide. Data didn't used to enabled by default on Thai SIM cards but things may have changed. Best check with the operator. HTH Packpao |

Cheers PP. Very useful. You think I'll have to use my UK SIM card then ?

Unless you're planning on taking out a mortgage, I'd suggest no! At 9.6, it'd end up costing you a lot of money! As mentioned, I'd check with the Thai networks. They may have enabled data by default (many networks around the world are trying to cash in on data so it wouldn't surprise me). Alternatively, just phone and request it to be enabled. Packpao |

Dtac or Happy D Promt is enabled by default. many Nokia phones only use the InfaRed as a modem and you cant enable the bluetooth to act as a modem
