Hi

Anyone have any recommended websites for downloading Thai pop music for MP3? My daughter is keen to acquire some of her favourite tracks and had been trying to use http://musicstation.kapook.com/ but when we come to download it seems to offer only itunes or amazon as sites from which we can purchase, both of which turn out to be "western websites" when we take the links and neither then seem to have the tracks we want.

Anyone got any suggestions or advice on how I resolve this please?

Hi Andy

Thanks for the tip, but not sure it progresses us any further. When I click on those links, I get a search list, featuring mainly UK websites and I am fairly certain I am not going to have much joy with those. Maybe I have to configure our user to be Thai and then maybe we get a different outcome, but we didn't try that so far.

I am just looking at http://radio.sanook.com/ and that offers some possibilities at first glance.

Hi Andy

Thanks for the offer. I will check with my daughter and see if she really knows what it is she is looking for. If she does, then I think she can probably make a list from the Kapook site she started with and we will post it here in the next day or so. Showed her the Sanook site I found and she says that has few of what she wants.

Robert W's and Tiny's suggestions of Limewire and uTorrent may be okay, but require installation of software before you begin and I don't want to fill our computer with programs that might be no use, so I will hold off on those at this time.

Something useful if don't want to download and have Music on VCDs.

Aom had some VCD's that she liked the music on and wondered if they could be converted to mp3. I used Free DVD to MP3 Ripper. A small download that's free.

Copied the VCDs .DAT tracks that Aom wanted to the hard disk.

Run the program and specified the source .dat file.

Changed the destination filename to the track name.

Moved the filter starting point to where the music starts (eg don't record the first 4.8 seconds of VCD title)

Entered the track/artist/year etc info (a nicety rather than essential)

Hit Rip and within a matter of seconds had a nice neat .mp3

Ended up burning these to CD so that Aom has her favourite tracks from a mix of VCDs all on one CD.

Software was faultless and FREE.

Don't suppose you would share how you do this with a computer novice would you?

Have seen a few vids on there with Thai songs and would like to get them on MP3. Have tried recording from soundcard but obviously doing something wrong as this don't work.
