Help required please

I'm trying to add a couple of pictures together in a collage on Paintshop Pro 4 but I cannot find out what to do. I don't even know if it's the right programme to do it in. Help

Never used Paintshop, but google picasa does a basic collage type feature. Not over fancy but picasa does do a lot of basic things well - and it's free.

Not sure about Paintshop, but usually I start off with a new blank sheet (big enough to take your images). Open the images you want and select them, now just drag and drop them onto your blank sheet, resize and crop as may be required.

Like this, you mean?

Mark,

I believe the techical term you're looking for is "Contact Sheet". I think Paintshop pro supports it but don't quote me.

Not quite, a contact sheet is a reference sheet made up from lots of small images, it derives from the good old days of film when you would process your negatives then lay them onto a piece of photographic paper, expose it to end up with a reference or contact sheet, from where you could select which shots you were going to use further.

Thanks for your suggestions but I'm still having problems. I downloaded Picasa but it doesn't really do what I want. I've tried to open a word doc and paste pictures but I cannot save it as a picture. Basicly I've got 2 pictures that I want to put side by side on the same page to print and use as my desktop background.

You can use most image software programs to do that.

If you create a new image the size of your desktop, eg 1280*1084 pixels, then you can copy and paste the two images onto the new blank picture and drag them to size.

I have an old version of adobe image software which I got with a scanner and it does that kind of thing fine.

Pcheywood,
Thanks for the offer but the pics are only for my viewing. Wink

I'm still having problems but am now using Photo Express and think I can do it in that but it's going to take me some time. I'll let you know how I get on.
