A keyboard is a keyboard, in any language. The pretty pictures on the keys are irrelevant. When you press the third key on the left it sends the same signal to the computer regardless of whether you are English, Spanish, Norwegian, Eskimo, Chinese or Thai. The trick is to instruct the system how to interpret that key press.

Functionally, there is no such thing as a "Thai keyboard". It's the same as any other keyboard, just with different pictures on the keys.

I think the question is which keyboard map is he using/ should he be using?

Clive, have you tried both shift lock and non shift lock versions?

Hi Clive

Sorry, my first reply wasn't very helpful.

To help answer your question, can I first check what sort of keyboard you have. What characters, for example, are printed below the letters S, D and F?

With a Kedmanee keyboard (99.9% of keyboards on sale) these are ห ก ด

With a Pattachote keyboard it is ท ง ก

Regards

Really strange. If you press "S" or "ห" when in 'Thai mode', what appears on screen?
