If you buy a computer in Thailand I assume it is possible to switch the operating system language from Thai to English. Is it possible switch the operating system language on a UK machine to Thai? How do you do it?
I was just considering taking an old desktop box to LOS. Its perfectly OK, but it would be a good excuse to upgrade to a better one here. The in-laws maybe could use it, but they would struggle if it was only showing English. The use would be digital pictures and maybe a web cam. Possibly a Skype phone as well, but I would have to look at the cost of an ADSL connection. To Infinity and Beyond ! |

Hmmm, all the techies must be on holiday.
Had a google on the subject and it would appear that you can't switch from one language to another without buying - reinstalling XP in a different language. Although it is possible to switch languages if you have an Apple-Mac. To Infinity and Beyond ! |

One possible solution would be to purchase an MUI (Multilingual User Interface) version of Windows XP Professional rather than the English version. Either that or buy an MUI pack to add to the English version which will turn it into an MUI version.
With the MUI version of XP Professional (AFAIK it is not available for XP Home) each user logging in to the computer can select their own interface language, so when you log in, all the menus etc. are in English, when someone else logs in the menus are in Thai.
