I was looking at the Tesco-Lotus web site and they have a promotion on svoa laptops, dose any one have any experience with this brand, are they reliable, any reviews of the models?.

I am looking to get a budget laptop and thinking of buying it in Thailand, as that is where it will be mainly used. Any suggestions on make, model vendor.

there are only a few companies that actually manufacture laptops, many companies order from these and have them rebadged to suit. SVOA may weel be one of the latter. If you need a Thai OS and a Thai keyboard then thailand may be the only place to buy. SVOA have their own website, svoa.co.th, and a search on google shows that there are quite a few places which use or offer them for sale.

You need to take care that the laptop comes with an OS, as this may be an extra cost.

Tesco-Lotus have regular specials on laptops and computers, at Songkran the 20,000 baht laptop special was made by HP. You may also want to take a look around Panthip Plaza to get a feel for what else is on offer.

Tesco-Lotus also has an Acer laptop on offer as well, and I know that Acer offer a worldwide warranty - let's hope I never have to test it.
