Hi, we are traveling to Thailand in November with our Baby Son who will be age 11 months when we go. We would appreciate any health tips for Parents with a young Baby traveling to Thailand, Bangkok and Chaing Rai locations. We understand Baby is too young for travel vaccinnes apart from the routine ones he has in UK and are naturally concerned that he is protected. Many Thanks
first things that springs to mind is the Airplane, you should arrange for a bulkhead seat with the cot that the airlines provide. You should have milk for baby to help baby avoid ear popping during take off and landing. They have baby changing facilities in the loos, even if a bit cramped. Nappies are not a problem in Thailand, we were buying mami poko brand in Big C and they were very good, we also bought a bottle steraliser there. We had no problem with reaction to moquitos (apart from me!) and used no creams for baby, but kept out of sun, as I am sure most Thais would anyway. On EVA Air they had a baby kit that had nappy, baby food etc. Only real problem we ever had was when we took cartons of babymilk to Heathrow and they made us test most (we had lots of spare bottles and so filled them), but we had to leave a few cartons behind
In all we made trips several times with Kelly, from I think 3 months upwards, everything you can get here you can get there even though different brands, so personally I think you have very little to worry about. You will also more then likely be able to board first as with baby, just remember to check where the pram will be collected from, at the aircraft door or at baggage collection, you don't want to get all the way to baggage collection only to find the pram is bag at the aircraft door

Dear IanB UK, Many Thanks for the reassuring info it is greatly appreciated, we have now booked on Eva Air, it is our first trip home to Thailand in 3 years and we are looking forward to it very much specially with our first new Baby Son
Good Luck and Enjoy, don't forget to make sure you get the bulkhead seats with the cot that can be attached, you can prebook this if you haven't already
