Currently in pattaya and one of the more unseen beauties is the inside of my g/f's mouth, i ,m referring to her wonderful teeth, unfortunately mine are not, just wondered if anyone has taken the opportunity to improve their molars as it were. I guess its called health tourism.
Dentists or do we go to the hospital maybe, i have heard some good stories about the hospital although what you might be told is not always so wonderful.
Experiences or comments please. regards everyone

I had some work done at the Dentists directly opposite Royal Garden Plaza on 2nd road. They were absolutely excellent and VERY reasonably priced.

the gardener,

Have a look at Dentist Info. My recommendations are included on there and you should save a few pennies compared to costs here in the UK.

A dentist I have used is on Pattaya Tai opposite Freindship supermarket. there are two dentists there and I used the one one the left hand side not the one on the corner. First time was a broken tooth that just neede filling 500bhat no appointment walk in and wait. Second time was a cap on a front tooth made an appointment for the next day for the grinding and imppresion to be taken, then returned in a week to have the cap fitted (paid falang price) 3,500bhat but as said a lot cheaper than in UK a cap in UK last time cost me over £200 Big Grin

Some of the info from my link that didn't work:-

If you make it to Pattaya and still need a Dentist try this one........................ Smile Dental Clinic
24/47 South Pattaya Rd. Pattaya CityTel:038-427830.......Made a fine job of cleaning mine!!
---------------
This was one of the dentists that I used a couple of weeks ago to replace 8 "mercury" fillings with nice new white ones, several hours dentistry and a very happy customer. The dentist spoke good english and they have a nice TV in the entrance/waiting room for anyone waiting. The also have a full published price list on the counter and so you can see the charges rather than being made up.

AND

Last dentist used was AEK International, Udon Thani, de-plaque, inspection and clean £12.

Prioir to this 2 dentists in Pattaya

1) Smile Clinic, 27/47 South Pattaya Road, Tel 038-427830, Dr Suppanut Boonperm (what a great name) Spoke excellent English and only had to wait 3 to 4 hours for an appointment. He replaced 4 UK ill health fillings with white fillings in my upper teeth. Injections given, painless and still perfect.

2) Wanchai Dental Clinic, 513/12 South Pattaya Road, Tel 038-426879. Haven't got the name of the dentist because the only name I could think of at the time was God. This guy did 4 lower fillings, reoving old ones and replacing with white. He was meticulous and did the first tooth without aneasthetic, wondering why I would need one, he drilled, removed and replaced with no pain, but my nerve didn't hold and so asked for injection. He put what felt like cotton wool buds in my mouth and no needles. Aneasthetic done he carried on to do the other 3. Apart from not being able to speak properly I was able to enjoy a tasty Thai meal within an hour of the work being done. This dentist is a genius even though initially unnerving regarding "you won't need injection".

I will always have my teeth done in Thailand from now on.

Regarding Hungary, an old aquantance of mine flies his Hungarian dentist from Hungary to see him and do his dental work, it works out cheaper for him to get the dentist here and pay him for the work than if he were to pay for the work here! He can not speak highly enough of the dentist.

the gardener,

Thailand is a major producer of sugar, around my wifes village at some times of year there seems to be nothing else growing. It's when she gets used to the UK culture of whiskey, vodka, rum... and coke, then you know you might have 2 or more problems. I find that the Thai diet tends to suit me far better than UK though and the Thai dental treatment is far superior (cheaper as well)!

ianb...... sorry my warped humour getting in the way of intelligent conversation yet again. It is sad to see her using so much sugar on her immaculate teeth.
I was thinking of dental implants (x2) but i guess i need many visits so closer to home may be useful. in the uk i was quoted 1200 sterling upwards and the hospitals 50000 -75000 tbt each plus 10000 for each extra crown ie 1 pin several teeth. the dentists all said go to the hospitals, i guess its very specialised and it can go wrong, drilling the jaw bone OUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry.................... very very very nice staff (polite)

i might think about hungary, i have heard very good stories as well if i can get a reccomendation ?????? still some whitening and a few fancy fillings i think regards
