does anybody have any information on how i would buy travel insurance for my g/f.
i did ask in thailand but the polocies didnt seeem to cover that much ?

do a search for travel insurance and lots of advice should come up

we went with 'bupa thailand'.

The main AIA site states that http://www.aia.co.th is the only AIA website and asks for any others using the AIA name or logo to be reported to them. In fact, the main AIA site is not that helpful in English. I'd be interested to know if aiathailand.com is the real deal or not.

Just select Thailand and it will give you a quote, I think my quote was about GBP 140.00 for 6 months cover.

Looking at World Nomads it says:

Australian, NZ, Canadian and US residents can buy cover for trips anywhere in the world. Residents of other countries can buy cover for the whole duration of the trip as long as you intend to travel to Australia or New Zealand during the course of your trip.

So this wouldn't be an option for just Thailand - UK travel, unless you're taking in Aus or NZ too.
