Well, as the saying goes, if you dont laugh you will cry. So i hereby announce Iam shooting blanks !!!!!

Of course, i am not just letting the world no about my problem, i am after your help.
No i dont want one of you to impregnate my wife, i have no intention of taking care of a 'grudge' baby (somebody had it in for me!)

We really want kid or kids and now have to go thru many tests, to be put on a waiting list, to wait at least 2 years, to have 1 shot at IVF, to have any chance of success.

Or pay extortionate amounts of money that i dont have to go private.

Or look into the possibility of having the treatment in Thailand. That is where you lot can help.
Does anyone know where i can get info on availability, costs, length of treatment etc etc in Thailand

Thanks in advance
Nige 'no lead' Barton

Nige,

I'm afriad I can't offer any help but I'd just like to say that commend your openness here. I think you're a real man to admit to it, especially here. Respect to you.

Hopefully someone on this forum might be able to help you, be it by PM or on this post.

Good luck with it. I'm sure you and Par will find a way to have kids.

Hi

I have a mate that runs a compnay that sorts out medical procedures in Thailand. His name is Darren and he is a good bloke. Health Vision but if cost is an issue check out india as they tend to be about 40 % cheaper than Thailand

My wife had been sterilized and after we met we decided we would like to try for a child. We were recommended a doctor in Khon Khaen who carried out a successful operation to reconnect her fallopian tubes.

From discussions with other couples who were receiving treatment for infertility at this doctor's sugery, we were lead to believe that his success rate was high and that his reputation attracted childless couples from all over Thailand.

The clinic is called Getabutra Ob and Gyn Clinic, Tel 043337521/337522.

Good luck!

Hi to everyone again.
Just to clear a couple of things up.
I was contacted via PM and was correctly informed that if iam indeed 'shooting blanks' then IVF would not work as live sperm is required.
I would just like to point out that i used this term merely as a light-hearted way of approaching a difficult stressful subject.
The reality is i have a low sperm count, with below average mobility ie the useless little ******s cant swim very good. The treatment i would actually be looking at is known as Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection or ICSI for short. Iam sure the clinics etc you have given me for IVF will also carry out ICSI.
Thanks again

On a lighter note again !!
When i was a young apprentice, and lets say enjoying the pleasures of the female body on a regular basis, one of the old wise men of the factory informed me 'Be careful son, God only gives you one bucket full'. Iam sure you can guess what he was referring to !
Having successfully fathered 2 sons in my first marriage it now appears my bucket is empty.
The silly old git doesnt seem so silly after all.

Hi Nige,
How old are you? I,m quite surprised after fathering 2 that you are having trouble.
I thought blokes could shoot live ammo even if it does slow down a bit!
Food for thought though for those(me included)who never considered that age could affect the potency/no. of the old 'tadpoles' Eeker
I wonder if the NHS does a free'count' test?

Hi gal
Iam the ripe old age of 40, just a spring chicken.
Surprised me as well, my first call was to my ex-wife to check that the 2 kids are mine.Only joking Smiler, i think Frowner

My GP said it can be down to many things, stress being the main thing, but he also said it could be down to something as simple as a smack in the clementines on the football pitch, had plenty of those during my sunday morning career. Also as GTG says supporting Newcastle gives you plenty of kicks in gonads

Ouch! There's another one! I'm almost disappointed I'll not be at work on Monday - I'm currently working in the heart of Shearerland. Had another lovely charity non-uniform day yesterday, causing great bewilderment amongst the more neanderthal of the students by sporting the red & white stripes for the day. I have to say, they coped with it a lot better than the kids at Wallsend last year!

With regard to your problem, I was surprised reading the details that you could lose your previous potency so early. I didn't actually have a go at reproducing until I was 40 and must have hit the jackpot within my first few attempts.

I do seem to have a lot of spare sperm at the moment so if you are stuck ......

It does, or at least it did five years ago, just ask your doctor.

It is a tad embarrassing having to produce a sample in the hospital waiting room with only the burly, mustached receptionist/nurse and a poster warning of genital herpes as stimulation. Angel

Tad embarrasing !! dont even go there !!!

If its not bad enough that you know the full waiting room and reception are only yards away, the cleaner only goes and starts vaccuuming right outside the door. I finally manage to compose myself and start 'standing to attention' when ....... the fire alarm goes off, quickly followed by a knock on the door, "sorry Mr Barton, we are going to have to evacuate"
After standing outside the hospital for 15 minutes with everybody who knows what i have just been doing, we get the go ahead to go back in. I am pointed to my little room again, only to walk thru the door and stand on my sample bottle that has susequently fallen onto the floor in the mad rush. I have to go to the reception desk Oliver Twist like please can i have some more. I return to the room a third time and surface 10 minutes, sweat pouring from brough and, without going into too many details, hardly enough to fill a bloody thimble. Thats okay Mr Barton we know you have had a stressful experience.
