I am to LOS tomorrow. Over the last few weeks I have had some teeth problems (well abcess) which of course the day before I fly the dentist is now closed and its reared it ugly problem. I have been given some anti-botics from the dentist which helped but I have almost run out. If I take the box so I know its the right medicine is it possible to get from a pharmasist over there are is it like UK where you need a doctors prescription?

Cheers

You will be able to get them no problem without a prescription from all pharmacies.

Excellent. I had a abcess a few years ago and I wanted to die it was so bad. This one is not so bad but I just worry in case it gets a bad as the last one and the anti-biotics will help.

PS what is the best over the counter pain relief drug you can buy?

Did the dentist drain the abscess before starting you on antibiotics?

If you still have the problem after finishing a full course of one antibiotic you may be better off visiting a dentist in Thailand. The abscess could be treated in other ways or they may recommend a different antibiotic. Taking a further course of the same antibiotic may do little to help if it didn't cure it first time around.

PS. LFC vs Inter Milan eh!

Luckily I have denplan and will take my card with me. I am always in my dentist with teeth problems - to much coca cola (and chocolate). In fact I call myself a semi professional dentist LOL

No I was no drained as it was on the surface. I am allergic to penicillin so apparently the drugs prescribed don't work as effectively and to be honest dosy pratt me forgot to take the antibotics for a few days.

So off to the dentist I may be while in Thailand - oh what fun.

Derren,

I have used several dentists in Thailand and have always received MUCH better treatment than here in the UK. The last dentist I used in Udon Thani had different prices for Thai and Farang, they handed me the wrong price list to start with and then gave me the Farang price list, after friendly chat I ended up paying the Thai price Wink

Prenders,

Sorry, can't remember the name, but if it helps, if you head down the very short distance to the bus station from Robinsons Mall (cross the road at the slippery flower sellers on the crossroads corner) there is a dentists between the entrances to the bus station, on the left hand side of the road, that is recommended, she was closed on Wednesdays and so I went directly across the road (same side as Robinsons side) and it was the Dentists there.

The service and quality there was excellent (far better than the treatment I has received on a prior visit to the local Coventry dentists). The dentist was a Thai lady who spoke excellent English.

Hope that helps.
