I've bought specs in Bangkok before, but always had my prescription with me. Knowing me, I'll not make the time to have an eye test before I leave the UK so just wondering if anyone has experience of somewhere reliable in Bangkok.

Thanks

Gary

ps I don't think I'd do too well with a thai script test!!!

Tried it in MBK...One eye was right the other...nearly right... LOL

Didn't speak much English...maybe better along Sukhumvit...

But this time I'm going to take my prescription with me...

We used to live in the Bangkapi/Minburi area and went to the local Better Vision shop in the Kasemrad Sukapiban 3 Hospital shopping complex on Sukhapiban 3 Road and they were very good.

They do have branches in Lotus and elsewhere.

See their website at http://www.btv.co.th/ for details of the sites. They say there is an English version but the shops are listed in Thai so you may need some help.

But generally they spoke English in Tesco Seacon.

They sometimes have problems with mixed prescriptions so just watch out.

Regards

Martin

Had big problems with the prescriptions. My advice is to get your presciption here with any corrections for stigmatism and just get it made up there.

I'd go with that.

For the last three years I have worn specs tested and made up for the optician in the lobby of the Ambassador Hotel, Sukhumvit. No problems or complaints.

I have simple long-sightedness problems with a difference between my two eyes, so maybe not very complicated. However, I can recommend without reservation.

Here's looking at you, kid !!
