As I normally cannot sleep on the plane, I now and again use Zopiclone which my GP is happy to give me.
However, a well known side effect is that for about 24hrs after your mouth tastes like a rusty bucket.Does anyone know of anything you can eat or drink that will lessen the effect.Even a curry or hot chilli seems to have no effect. Thanks |

I use stilnoct (Zolpidem) which is a different type of medicine it has fewer side effects and is very effective.

Why would you want to sleep with all the wonderful entertainment provided free throughout your journey? I am thinking of crying children, bumps to your head by the person who has visited the loo 5 times already, the woman vomitting in the seat near by. And if you do dose off the cabin crew member who wants to know if you would like a drink.

Zopiclone works great for me. My tabs are 7.5mg. This guarantees me a good sleep and absolutely no after-effect.
Are you taking same dosage? |

All drugs have side effects if they didn't they wouldn't be working. Just because you aren't aware of them doesn't mean they aren't there. Learn self hypnosis and stop taking the tablets.

My god a writer and a pharmaceutical chemist must be nice in cloud cuckoo land. Drugs work if the planned effect is present , any side effects are incidental. We all live under the same sky, but we don’t all have the same horizon.- Konrad Adenauer |

Are you on the Board of NICE ?? if you aren't maybe you should apply for a job, you'd save the NHS a fortune. Who needs drugs when hypnosis is free |

I do a 'cocktail' of Colin and Gary. Chez Gerard in Terminal 3 for the vino blanc and then the Night Nurse about 21.00. Flight delayed one time on the pan for 45 mins, take off in the land of nod, woke up over India.

Triazolam 1991 Withdrawn in the United Kingdom because of risk of psychiatric adverse drug reactions. This drug continues to be available in the U.S. Temafloxacin 1992 Withdrawn in the United States because of allergic reactions and cases of hemolytic anemia, leading to three patient deaths.[1] Alpidem (Ananxyl) 1996 Withdrawn because of rare but serious hepatotoxicity. This list above is not exhaustive, found in one minute on the internet. I myself was prescribed celebrex in france as an "Absolutely safe 24 hr anti arthritic drug" One month later the doctor told me that in light of my medical history it was absolutely unsafe as details of the strokes it caused all over the world leaked out. Your blinkered and cavalier views contribute to a culture which allows the overuse and overprescription of so many drugs like antibiotics, antidepressants, ADHD etc etc. If you find it unreasonable that I should advise someone try to eschew drugs you are an idiot. I'm not a pharmaceutical chemist, I am a qualified hypnotherapist and NLP practioner and have worked in five different countries. Apart from an ability to open a big mouth and put your foot in it what qualifies you to pass judgement on me? Remember sometimes that rattling sound when you shake your head? It's your brain, try using it. |
