Old hand [young at heart!] |
Fsport are supporting two Thai charities this June/July.
The Camillian Centre and the Pattaya Childrens Orphanage. The team we are sending to compete in this years Thailand 24 hour endurance race will also donate any prize monies won(up to $12,000) and put their kits up for auction to boost the appeal. Justgiving and the Pattaya Orphanage Trust have agreed to split equal, all money raised. This way sponsors don't have to make a difficult choice. A big thanks to Thailand-uk and the forum for the insperation! Please visit the links and support us if you can. Can you help? On Sat 1st and Sun 2nd of July we are expecting 100+ kids! The team have arranged with the track owners and race organizer to set aside an area to entertain the kids. We will provide food and refreshments and of course team 'T' shirts etc. So if anyone is in Pattaya, drop me a PM. Also, we have decided to take the kids from the Camellian Centre for a days fun and frolicks on the Friday before the race. They are to come and watch us practice, visit another kart track where we will have lunch and after have some fun around the track. Later that day we are to visit the Elephant and Buffalo show on Suhkimvit Rd. Again, all welcome. Well done Jenny and Marcus
By far too energetic for me. Well done and all for a good cause. May I now draw everyones attention to the links below; We are not asking for donations (unless you want to) just have a look and let us know what you think. We are hoping some 'heavy hitters'on the sponsorship will be coming through. Some exciting media attention is brewing both here and in Thailand; GMTV, UBC, ITV (LOS) etc. Our aim is to split our cash raised between the Pattaya Orphange and the Camillian Centre. Some 150+ kids are being entertained by the team during our five day visit. In paricular, the kids at the Camillian Centre where we will take them away for the day to a couple of race tracks, get them involved both on and off the track. We are completing the day with a visit to the Elephant and Buffalo show in Pattaya. (the kids chose this attraction) On race days, the patty orphanage (100+) will attend on the Saturday, and the Camillian children will again be our guests on the Sunday. The race team will provide all food and refreshments etc throughout the day. Although a public event at the international Bira track just outside Pattaya, I would be delighted to meet as our team guests, any forum members at our pits and seated grandstand set aside for our team and childrens exclusive use. To gain entry just show or wear a team shirt (Oh, sorry only for the kids) so just mention to the armed guards and security your a personal buddy of mine Or; if your in the area, the team will be residing at the Sandalay Resort, soi 2, Beach road, north patty. Drop in and say hello! Our dates are from 26th June to 5th July. The sites below explain more detail. ian1208 Judging others before you have met is'nt a wise option. www.cicrbi.com.cn www.fsportkarting.com www.thailand24h.com |

I'm hoping to be there Ian. Not got a thai phone sorted yet,but will be able to send you the number in due course after the 23rd June.
Unfortunately,my media contact in Pattaya is presently at film festivals in the USA promoting a film he's made. Not sure if he's back before the event. If he is I'll get him mobilised for the local interest. Steve aka Rolyshark |

Maybe some of you may be able to help.
The team are looking for an suitible logo; in Thai, for us to put on our race suits and t'shirts etc. Any artwork for screen printing would be required also. Bear in mind that it woud be printed here so nothing complicated. ian1208 Judging others before you have met is'nt a wise option. www.cicrbi.com.cn www.fsportkarting.com www.thailand24h.com |

No! I met Ian last night briefly but forgot to ask. Ian said he'd give me a ring later today anyway. Looks like it'll be a big event. Steve aka Rolyshark |

Still Checking In |
From memory, I went there a few years back, it is head inland just a few Km from inbetween Jomtiem and Pattaya. I will try to find it on a map, but only took a few minutes to reach and just had to watch out for a few speed bumps/sleeping policeman along the way.
