There are several shops in Chinatown that sell Thai foodstuffs. There is one specialist Thai shop (Kim's) but over recent months has become expensive, worth shopping in the Chinese supermarkets first and then getting what you can't get at the Chinese shops at Kim's.

Follow the links on the Thailand-UK home page for a list of shops.

The Pacific Thai restaurant in China town do an excellent mid day all you can eat buffet for just £6.95 per head.

And the supermarket next door (down stairs) in our opinion is one of the best for selection and price of Thai food.

As Tobias says - save Kim's to last because of the prices charged.

Tobias and Lee,

Thanks for info. Kim's was expensive and I expected it to be better stocked, found Woo Sang Chinese supermarket around the corner lots of various food stuff and reasonably good prices. Did not see your post Lee still we got back, will try next time.

Experience at the Cyprus Travel agents who act on behalf of the consulate was not to painful, but I will be so glad when Yao and Dae get there ILR/British Passport and save all these issues.

Yes we go to Kims for specific items we cant get anywhere else, but the prices do seem to have increased over the last few months. Also you can try Try Thai, rest round the corner that is pretty good.

Scally, have you submitted a short review on your experience at the Try Thai? Follow this link to the Restaurant section and post away. It doesn't have to be a long review, a single line is better than nothing at all and it will certainly assist others in the future who are looking for or comparing places to eat.

I second the recommendation of Try Thai and have just followed you advice Tobias to post a review. In my opinion this is the best Thai food in Manchester and lunch menu is good value.
