Just seeing how much land 100,000Baht should buy ....? Without the F.A.T

There is a piece up for sale in Su's family village, just on the edge next to the rice fields... has water and electric near by.

Village is about 50Km outside of Surin - Samrong Thap.

Not too sure on size at moment.... ?

Just as an idea, in village 50km from Udon Thani got approx 100ft x 500ft with road frontage, elec and water 4 to 5 years ago for 30,000baht, that also involved lumberjacks, crane to remove tree roots, bulldozer to level first 100x100ft and ~90 lorries of soil to raise the 100x100ft up about a metre. Bargain of the Century as thought it was 30,000 for land and another 30,000 for the work! IMHO 100,000 without F.A.T. should buy quite a bit of village land.

From what I can remember from the size of plot it is no where near that size probably somewhere around 50m x 30m maximum... but getting definate answer later on.

Just wondering how do you convert meters in rai.... and also rai into acres

We bought 3 years ago now, 3 Rai for 86,000 Bht about 50mm of main road and from a village. Has electric and water.

My wife was offered to buy the plot next to her families house (in the village, mains, water) which wasnt even 1 Rai for 90,000 Bht,she refused on the grounds of the price, she said at the very most 70'000 bht.

You can always barter, we bought ours off the back of a gambling debt (not ours!)

If you are looking it at a future investment you would be better off buying slightly further out, the villages are all going to grow anyway.

1 sq. Wah = 4 sq. m.

1 Ngan = 100 Wah (or 400 sq. m.)

1 Rai = 4 Ngan (or 1600 sq. m.)

1 Acre = 2.5 Rai (approx.) or 43,560 sq. ft.

1 Hectare = 6.25 Rai or 10,000 sq. m.

Think your right there Upcountry will look further out of village... found out this morning that it was than 1 rai anyway, so think we'll be giving it a miss!

Also if we look further a field think there will be less of being woken up by chickens @ 04:00 every morning

Well this is just our 10 year plan anyway.... by time I'm in my early 40's would be nice to have somewhere sorted out near to Surin
