Hi All,

My Thai girlfriend and i will be visiting London soon, on a short sight-seeing trip. So, could any board members recommend a place (pub, cafe or restaurant) in central London, that provides good inexpensive Thai food?

Many Thanks in Advance,
Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year to All,
jimmyorange

Hi jimmyorange,
go on to google and type in Thia restaurants London and you will see that there are plenty to choose from none of them are very cheap but most are very good I like the Thai Square in cockspur st in Trafalger square it also has a club downstairs.

You can also find details of restaurants on the Thailand-UK.com website, some with reviews.

You can look on the Thai Restuarant section of his site, or just pick the yellow pages, and you will find dozens of Thai restuarants in Central London. If you want cheap eats, try TukTuk noodle bar on Old Compton Street; at about £20 per head you could try Busaba Eathai on Wardour Street, which is very popular, for a family feel there is Thai Cottage on D'arbly St, or my favourite Soho Thai in St. Anne's Court, off Dean St W1.

If you are visiting the London Dongeon in Tooley Street (which my girl loved) there is a good Thai restarunt not too far down Tooley Street (about 500yards to the left of Dungeons), run by cousins of mother in law they also own a pub a few minutes walk away that also does Thai food. All food is cooked by Thais and if you like it hotter than the English taste they will do that for you. Price on menue is right mai peng Thumbs Up

Just asked the name of Restarunt told "Somchai" but how it's spelt in UK not a clue

Like everybody else said there are plenty about.

If in West London try Noodles Magic in Hammersmith (of the 5 "Thai" Restuarants in Hammersmith they seem to be the only one with Thai owners)Real Thai noodles and the usual fayre

Also there is a specifically Esarn restuarant in Sheperds Bush ( if that is more your Style ) - Esarn Karew or something.

You can PM if you want the addresses of some late night Thai specific Karaoke venues
