could any members rate the shops in these two places as we
are taking weekend trip to uk late november.

Chugwell
The shopping in Bournemouth and Portsmouth is like all other large towns in England but having said that they are pretty good.
What are you after I live in Bournemouth.it is a pedestrian only shopping zone.
Boscombe has many antique shops

I would give Portsmouth a Miss, as not as nice as Bournemouth

It has to be Portsmouth, no contest. As well as the main shopping centre at Commercial rd there is the recently opened Gunwarf Key which has many factory outlets, a multiplex cinema as well as bars and clubs.
While you are at Gunwarf you could go up the Millenium tower which opened last week and offers panoramic views accross the Solent from the viewing platforms at about 480 feet. Walk round the corner and visit the the home of the Royal navy and go aboard Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, or the Warrior or see Henry VIII flagship the Mary Rose.
I almost forgot, you could go to Fratton Park and see the only Premier league club on the South coast.

sorry guys i missed typed the missing word is THAI
we are trying to find out about the thai foods shops.

i understand bournemouth has two thai only shops and other oriental shops we had been told of shop in portsmouth selling thai and other food products its not listed under the shopping section of thailand-uk.

we will fly to southampton stay in southampton or come across by boat with the car hence the two areas.
