Many shoe brands in Thailand seem to use the European shoe size standards.

According to the woman's chart here:

http://www.bata.com/tips/shoe_size_chart.php

... 36 is the equivalent of 3 to 3½ in the UK, 5½ to 6 in the US.

The shoes I buy in Thailand are labelled size 44 or 45. That translates correctly on the man's chart in the link above to 9½ to 10½, which was my size in the UK.

In N Barton's case, again according to the chart, a women's UK size 5 would be size 39 in Thailand, a US size 5 would be 35.

Presumably you mean size 38 and she's not really a centipede? Smiler

Big Grin. Steve.

Thanks folks, you were right, it is size 3 Thumbs Up
I Managed to find a pair of house slippers at the market and they fit fine Smiler

I think it will be the children's section in the department store for jeans etc, as she's only 44 kilo, and she think she's overweight LOL
