Mam bought our double bed, which we are very comfortable in, close to the Faranf Connection in Surin.

If you go round the one way system of the bus station and back down to the road by the entrance to the Thong Tharin Hotel, there is a very good furniture shop on the corner with noodle stalls outside. It is literally 90 seconds walk from the Farang Connection.

I think you should not buy too cheap...we already made that mistake before we bought our current bed. The whole thing, with mattress, cupboards on the headboard etc. was 20-25 thousand. It is really good quality and comfort. You get what you pay for. As you spend more time in your bed than any other one place, I suggest it is worth splashing out !!

Cheers guys......... thats a good start - looks like we're have to check out tesco, bit of prob though we've been looking at their web site and can find everything apart from a bed.... managed to find bedding, pillows, matress etc ??

Think your right John we're gonna have to spend a bit more than I've allowed for - 5000B (tight @rse). Dont think that will even cover us for the matress, was hoping for a Thai price Frowner Su has also spotted on the Tesco web site - washing machine, fridge freezer and a few more bits along the way - best get saving now Help

Andy, cheers for the offer... but I won't actually be in Surin until 22 Dec, would have popped in otherwise Thumbs Up

There is an Index store on the way out of surin towards Sihkoraphum look there, we bought our bed from Index in Chiang Mai for 10900B it has hardwood shelves and built in light instead of a head board, they had a bigger selection than Tesco also.
