Anyone know of a UK stockist of the top loading washing machines that they have in Thailand?

Anna thinks that my front loader is OK, but much prefers the Thai versions. It is getting on a bit, so I thought that I would try to surprise her with one more to her liking.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Just stick with the Britsh brand. If anything goes wrong then you can get the parts from a supplier who is based in the U.K.
right?

Top Loaders - aren't they banned over here - because of the Eu or something?

they have them in Aust. but were moving away from them because of water shortages!!

why does Anna prefer a washer that washes in cold water? I have top of the range one in Bkk and they are CRAP only good for clothes that are not really dirty at all. stick with the front loader mate.

That's what I ended up doing. After giving her instructions a few times in what powder / liquid goes where and the various heat settings she is happy, though I do still get the occasional "Thai machine better" comment.

She has been distracted recently anyway, she has noticed how cold (to her)it has been recently and is starting to wonder how much colder it will be in winter!

I came home from work one day to discover my clothes had been washed in fabric softener and rinsed in laundry liquid, which highlights the importance of labeling! Get a marker and write "Makes clothes clean" and "Makes clothes feel soft" on the correct bottles...time well spent. Big Grin

Then there was the time Thaiboi took two sleeping tablets to cure his headache. You can never have enough labels!

Not sure if you want twin tub (as sold in the uk 25 years back) or top loader! (both these sold in thailand)

Twin Tub do not waste money buying these outdated machines.

Top loader these work very well, they are expensive to make, hence the extra cost against front loader type.

Asco, electrolux, whirlpool all have one top loader model,
they are very popular in sweden, and other european areas.

Top loaders use a lot more water and so do really badly on the energy efficiency ratings. They are very difficult to find in the uk now.
