Mekhong had formaldehyde in it. I used to work for a drinks company and got them to run a sample through the lab. The results were terrible and it was not fit for human consumption legally. That was many years ago though so maybe they have cleaned it up.

Many years boon rawd ripped off thai people(60 Years)over priced drink, then Interbev group the producers of sangtip,
mekhong and later somsam, started to produce chang, later they opended the beer lao plant in lao(part of carlsburg group)joint venture loss of business caused boon rawd to introduce beer leo as cheaper selling beer then the singha brand, it costs no more or less to produce then singha but hit the market around price of chang.(Thai fat Cats) chang was 25% less then singha when first selling up north east in shops years before release in bkk, pattaya etc. slowly singha prices droppped not chang rising the prices are now very close and so they should be,Production costs are very little in diffrence if any Donna Tirrel of singha uk says they would never import Leo and have exclusive rights to boon rawd group products. Leo was imported into france couple years back died a death the french like beer lao and 333 (viet) beer damm good too. sean (off Topic) InterBev who own moffat distillery in scotland are the importer of chang, sangtip, sangsom to the uk, inturn they supply three companies who are the area distribution agents, |
