I just been to this establishment near the Blackwall Tunnel in Woolwich. Address is Horn Lane, Greenwich, London, SE10 0RT. See http://www.seewoo.com/stores.php They also have a shop in Chinatown in London.

They appear to have the cheapest prices for Thai and Oriental food in the South East. It is about 11.5 miles north from the M25 up the A2/A102 - take exit for the Woolwich Ferry.

Seewoo also are travel agents and occasional have cheap tickets to bangkok. You have to check the leaflets as you pass to the exit. These specials usually only relate to a single flight and do fill up their quota quickly.

I'm moving closer to Reading very soon and really looking forward to checking out this supermarket!

How does SeaWoo compare with ANA Oriental Supermarket, also in Reading?

Cliff,

ANA is OK, but the "sell by" date on items does need seriously checking. When we used to go there it was cash only and it is not a BIG place, about the same size as a standard 7-11. They do cover a lot of produce though and WHEN/IF you get to know the lady serving on the till it is a friendly place.

I found See Woo more expensive and not aswell stocked as Hoo Hing in Chadwell Heath. Particularly if you are trying to get thai branded products.

The computer says whatever...

ANA has now closed.

I'm not sure if Seewoo is the same as the ones in London as it is a different website and on the London Seewoo site they do not mention Reading.

Seewoo Reading takes debit cards and are one til 6 on a Sunday

Martin

Have any of you tried the Thai shop in Maidenhead very small and friendly not to expensive and lots of goodys the name is Thai & Far Eastern Foods Supermarket. Turn right at the roundabout as you enter Maidenhead off the A4 from Reading and its in the first road on the left.

North London is lucky to have a number of oriental food stores but I wouldn't recommend either of the above. Oriental City has only a small selection of Thai food which is not surprising as it started life as a Japanise food center. Wing Yip is more Chinese orientated.

Additionally there is Loon Fung over in Alperton and nearby Hoo Hing at Park Royal. Hoo Hing are also at Enfield Lock.

My wife's favorite store is Hoo Hing as it has the widest selection of Thai food. This is also backed up by the many Thai shoppers you see at Hoo Hing at the weekends.
