I know it's not everyone's tipple, but this is my favourite Thai beer. Has anyone ever seen it on sale in the UK?
In the meantime, I'm off to check out that Waitrose offer on Beer Singh for two bottles for £2.39. |

Never seen it in the UK. I like it on draught better than bottles or cans, not that it stops me drinking them at home

Hi all,
Good job there haven't got much Thai-uk couple around Malvern. Gary went to waitrose malvern today still have full shelf of Singha. Looks like not many people know Singha around this area. He said at beer corner there were about 5-6 customers looking for thier fav. brand like Stella, Carlbergs etc. Then Gary just grabbed all Singha from the shelf about 14 bottles, then everybody looked at him wondering what happened, why he got them all. He said he felt guilty so he put 2 bottles back to the shelf just in case anybody wants them. And when he walked out from the area, looking back he found few customers have a look at that 2 bottles of Singha beer. I hope they don't fight ! Yes, Somebody is a little confused here. Beer LEO and Beer LAO is not the same. Beer LAO has nothing to do with Beer Chang.
Personally I think Beer LAO is the best in the business. Drink loads no hangover!! Having been to the brewery in Vientiane (excuse spelling), and having spoken to the UK importer I will let you know when it's on the streets at my restaurants in Hertfordshire. Now back to the Beer LEO thread!! |

don't worry yourself, the rest of us knew that you had been drinking and so meant "(excuse spilling)" no way would we critisize youre spelling even lough we no youd nether tak afence. I think John was having a joke regarding your apology over Vientiane rather than critisizing. Rare to find 2 people with the same sense of humour though P.S. Leo Beer is also my favourite, but never seen outside of Thailand. |

So, does Beer Leo need to have some sort of 'export licence?' I remember someone asking whether Mekhong Whiskey could be bought in the UK. I don't know whether it's true or not, but apparently it couldn't be imported into the UK because the whiskey contained formaldehyde.
Perhaps I should contact a Thai beer importer and find out how to get some shipped into the UK. |

Ricruk,
Mehkong and SamSong whiskey are both available at the Globe Supermarket in Leamington Spa, I think it was the SamSong that had the formaldehyde reputation, at about £20 a bottle they don't sell too well though Next time I'm there I will have to ask them if they can get Leo and see what they say. |
