We have had all of them. We went for Sky initially because it offered free braodband when you sign up to the TV package. we had nothing but problems with the broadband, it was so slow and we had terrible IT support. Because Sky was so slow so we decided to pay extra for a faster package but it was still terrible and no good for Thai Tv via broadband as it restricted usage (this was despite paying for unlimited downloads) Bah!.
Virgin was much the same as Sky.
In the end I went with BT at £18.99 per month for their unlimited broadband package. We also subscribed to Thaitv.tv which lets Mook watch live TV (wireless) via the internet which I have hooked up to the TV and her mobile phone (which she doesn't use). You can get channel's: 3,5,7 9,and TITV, or hundreds of new and old pre recorded dramas, films, News, or comedy's.It costs me $100 for the year and it works brilliantly.
We are now dumping Sky TV completely as we dont watch it that much. I have switched to freeview instead.
I have been to peoples houses that have Thai TV via satelite (not Sky, BT or Virgin), but it lacks choice with just 2 channels available(one of which is a religous channel if I remember correctly).

BT sent me a bt vision box a couple of months ago for free as I threatened to go eklse where when my modum packed up, plugged it in and tried to install the freeview and nothing for the 2 hours it supposed to set-up. I called BT vision and told them and they were going to send anoth box. However I declined as they didn't want the original back. A mate at work has 5 of these BT vision boxes in his father in laws garage none work.

The problem is these companies want you to subscribe to their services but if they cannot get the hardware right what chance have you. I have heard Virgin was good they have fiber link 20mb.

Similar to Neil & Mook, Aom uses www.thaitv.tv for Thai TV and would feel at a loss without it. We then have freeview (actually an old Sky box and old card, but pay Sky nothing) for UK TV. I now use BBC iplayer for programs I miss on BBC and we have TalkTalk as Broadband & Telephone provider (free calls, their plan 3) and 18185 for calls to Thailand. For all the above we pay TalkTalk £20.49 a month, Thaitv $100 a year, Licence fee £xxx and rising, 18185 about £4.00 a month depending on call level. Don't pay anything to Sky or BT and very happy with level of services.

Aom also uses Kapook, but they are behind every virus that gets picked up on my PC Mad

i connect from the laptop to TV, however they sell a set top box for about $200 (which has a remote control)that plugs into your broadband. You will need to check that the connection is ok for the UK. Give them a call.

Skippy,
I agree with Ian B . Talk Talk give you free Broadband & a great phone deal. My wife uses www.bbbtvthai.com for all her Thai tv needs. We also use VOIP discount for 5 hours of free calls to Thailand per week. It will probably mean that you'll have to get yourself a laptop or else have to wait in line for use of your computer.
