I shall be on my way to Nakhon Sawan next month. As I am passing through Bangkok I thought I would do a little shopping for software in Pantip Plaza. I haven't been there before. I won't have much time in Bangkok so I want to find what I want pretty fast.

Can anyone recommend a good and reliable software supplier in Pantip Plaza?? i.e. no corrupted CD's when I get home!

Some of us would not touch pirated software for moral reasons (allegedly) and because fixpaks, upgrades etc are difficult.

It's alright having to bin 10%, but how do you replace it once you are home

Have you got access to a notebook in LOS? Could try it there and then if you have.
Most places will burn you another copy if you do happen to get a duff one.

As you go in Pantip on the left had side on ground floor there is a stall with most software, if you cannot see what you want ask him and he will say wait 10 minutes and will disapear and come back with what you want (pirated of course) and if blinds are up on most stalls the Police are doing a swoop for Pirated software, so come back when they are gone, all software worked I bought.

Surely there are dozens of software stalls on the left side as you go into Pantip Plaza? And, of course, there are at least two doors to go in . . . .

The missus is telling me her family say there is a Plaza closer to the airport selling IT. Anyone got any ideas?

Laksi Plaza is supposed to be an IT centre not far from the airport. Does anyone know anything about it?

First or second stall on extreme left of entrance selling software, you should be able to find it, no matter what door you go in at front of Pantip

I purchased software & mp3's from various stalls in Pantip Plaza last week. So far I have found around 1 in 5 disks has some corruption on them. I also purchased dvd's & x-box games from MBK & that has all turned out ok. MBK also seems to have alot more stalls on one floor in particular dedicated to i.t, software etc. Judging from what I have purchased I'd be more inclined to use MBK again rather than p.p for software. Most "vendors" told me if I found any probs to bring the software back in 7 days & they'd exchange it. Guess you need to try it out & then if they wanna be akward they can deny you bought it. You pay's your money & you takes your chances I'm afraid.

there are sorces in the Uk which are just as cheap and much more reliable. Get yourselves around some computer fairs.

Yes, many. Near the food centre. 3rd floor IIRC

Caveat Emptor with pirated software though. You don't know what else you're getting with it (rootkits, keyloggers, spyware, etc..)

4th floor furure park - rangsit near airport - has a lot of Panthip style little software stalls too.

Zeer Rangsit - not too far from the current airport has 4 floors of IT.

Also, the market there does some scrummy food.
