Mam and I were in LOS, Surin area, for Christmas and New Year. Outside the houses in some villages the locals had placed old clothes stuffed with straw to make dummies.
Mam and family said it was just for good luck. Anyone know any more detail about this tradition. And is it local to Surin area or more widespread? We drove over to Chayaphum and Nakhon Sawan to visit family but saw nothing similar in those parts.
Interested to hear.

I was in a village in Roi Et recently . I laid myself out for a snooze on some mats under the house. Much chatting goes on. Whats up Sea I asked. You sleep with your feet pointing to the forest. Err and? Thats where we put dead people. I saw many sights on that trip but stayed clear of the forest.
