The Gold Traders Association of Thailand announces today (January 4th) that one baht of gold ornament, or 15.2 grams of gold, is bided at 13,310.48 baht and offered at 14,000 baht. At the same time, a gold bar is bought at 13,500 baht and sold at 13,600 baht.

Meanwhile, the gold price in the United States has soared to 869.10 US dollars per ounce, increasing by 9.10 US dollars, or 1.1 percent due to the depreciating US currency and inflation rates.

We have about 25 baht of the stuff but it is now never worn, I have gone off it completely as it looks too bright and the missus rarely wears it, although i like it on her as she has the right skin colour, not like my lily white shade.
If i was going out there soon i would probably sell most of it, mine at least! as we bought it a few years ago at much less than it is now. I looked at selling it in the UK but the price was pretty awful compared to LOS.

I just paid 122 euros for 2 cubic meters of firewood Mad (and I had to cut and collect it) and next week I think we will have to buy a couple of thousand liters of heating oil which yesterday was 30% more expensive than last year.

Because thats what thai's do as its a second currency ie

A friend of the wife sold a gold chain approx 1 baht for £100 some time ago to the wife and is due to go to LOS in a few weeks and wanted to buy back saying I can change for you as you not like and give you the money back, the missus nearly fell for it until her sister (works in jewellery in BKK silom)and I pointed the price was going up.

I have since loaded the web site for thai gold jewellery on her laptop so she can watch the price change! Roll Eyes
