Poor kid :-(

Not so sure I share the sentimentality.
I would use the term 'poor kid' for the 2yo raped and murdered, or the other 3yo that was tortured recently. Not someone involved in gang and gun violence on a South London estate. |

Okay SteveR, I understand what you are saying, except, regardless of whether he was involved in gang violence or not - he has a mother, father and of course his sister that "found him"......
But hey SteveR it is up to you, post what you like - despite the fact at he actually may be a victim of mistaken identity.. Skippy |

Where do you get that information from? The previous shooting was, this wasn't. He knew his attackers. |

Then why not do it for the other 2 boys who were murdered?
Whatever, this is just another bad kid from South London, expelled from school and already a police record, that hung around with the wrong type of people. As I said, I don't have much sympathy for anyone that gets involved in these sorts of gangs and it's a stark warning to parents to start looking after their kids and taking some responsibility for them. This coule easily have been a thread about him being arrested for drug offences, robbing someone or even shooting someone himself. |

I am not sure this is really the place for the public character assassination of a young murder victim. This kid could be the son of a member here or a close friend of the family.
Whatever his antecedents, he didn't deserve to be murdered. Let's please show some respect, if not to the boy, then at least to those he has left behind. Tobias - โทเบียส |

Gee SteveR, if I was on the Peckham-UK or possibly the Streatham Ice Skaters website, I probaly would have already sent my condolences via a post.
But,hey I am on Thai Uk website and seeing that some people that actually know this kid and/or his family may actually read this website or be part of the web community, I think that my condolences are appropriate But hey, that is just my opinion, you are entitled to your own!! - Skippy PS thanks Tobias - I thought I was only one who thought that this was the wrong place "to speak ill of the dead"... |

I don't wear rose-tinted glasses.
My ex-girlfriend (Thai) in Australia had a brother involved in gangs - emptied out my house of every possession and was in jail for extortion and assault when I left. He's one of the major reasons we split up. I have no time for anyone involved in this activity and judging by the comments of many others in society, neither do they. I am however interested in knowing why you all suddenly feel the need to pass on condolences or sympathy, 24 hours ago this was just another 'black on black' crime that no-one on here (especially non-Londoners) would bat an eyelid over. Hypocritical at best, racist at worst. |

C'mon SteveR - just because the kid might have "needed a good kick up the bum" as we say in Australia
doesn't mean we can't show a bit of compassion to his family some of which you might have stood next to at the temple in Wimbledon, or The Festival in Battersea...
not even going near that one - not the time or the place!! Just say if you are calling me a racist, think again! It would seem you are the one that is pre-judging here.. I suppose if I suddenly posted something about an Aussie or Kiwi who was shot, and hadn't posted anything about this lad what would that be then! -Skippy |

I can see where this topic is heading. If you want to continue please use the PM facility.
As I said above, this kid could be the son of a member here or a close friend/relative of the family, perhaps via a Thai Temple. Whatever his antecedents, he didn't deserve to be murdered. Let's please show some respect, if not to the boy, then at least to those he has left behind. This is why I am closing this topic for a while. Tobias - โทเบียส |

I feel sad for the fella's family as he was half Thai (just like me). I admit that I didn't feel so much for the previous two victims because I didn't feel part of their community.
I haven't yet seen a name but I wouldn't be surprised if he was part of London's Thai community. No doubt there will be some kind of ceremony at the Thai temple in Wimbledon of which I regularly attend and I feel part of. Perhaps he was part of a gang but there are lots of pressures on children of that age. I hated life when I was 15 and I consider myself to have had a very good upbringing. The kids don't always get the parental love they need. Perhaps his parents were separated or were just too busy working hard trying to earn a living to feed their child. Nobody deserves to leave this life in that way, especially a 15 year old. May the chap rest in peace. Packpao |

- Skippy From the Daily Mail link ( a small amount) 'She used to take part in Thai festivals and would dress up in traditional Thai dresses and dance. 'She looked so pretty, she was a real diamond. Her parents are very proud, but obviously that has now been completely overshadowed.' It was Elizabeth who found her 15-year-old brother dying from a bullet wound to his chest on Wednesday afternoon. 'The poor girl will never recover' Again I stress that it is his family that carrys the burden here and I hope they get the support they need - Skippy |
