Quote from BKK Post: Today, medical team of Chulalongkorn Hospital will not give assistance to police officers injured from the clashes with PAD supporters. This is a social measure to show that doctors and nurses condemn the violent actions," Dr Suthep Koncharnwit, doctors of the hospital said.
How can doctors refuse to help those in need of treatment, surely to give help to those who require medical help is part of the Hypocratic oath?
I know as a First Aider I am taught and I teach it that we must not think who it is we are giving aid to but only do they need it.

Yes Colin Thai Airways International (THAI) has set up a committee to investigate one of its pilots after he refused to allow three MPs from the People Power party (PPP) to board his aircraft yesterday.
The THAI vice-president Norahuch Ployai said captain Jakri Pongsiri had already been suspended until the outcome of the disciplinary investigation, which is expected to be completed next week.
THAI president Apinan Sumanaseni said if found to be in the wrong, the pilot would be punished either by being temporarily or permanently demoted to co-pilot.

Chulalongkorn hospital executives have disavowed moves by doctors not to treat injured police officers in a protest over the violent reaction to disperse demonstrators on Tuesday. The hospital, which works under the auspices of the Thai Red Cross Society, has a duty to treat all patients regardless of their political leanings, hospital deputy director Tirapong Jaroenwit insisted yesterday

The Cabinet(28 Oct 2008)approved Bt56million budget to compensate victims in recent political violence.

Deputy government spokesperson, Suparat Nakboonnam, said the victims entitled to compensation were those killed or injured in the violent incidents on August 29, September 2 and October 7.

Most casualties took place on October 7, when two people were killed and more than 400 others injured.

According to Suparat, the families of the dead victims will each get Bt400,000 one-off compensation. Children of the dead victims, if any, will also get a monthly subsidy of between Bt1,000 and Bt1,500 for their education until they receive a bachelor's degree.
