Thai women's favourite investment has shot up in price recently to near 25 year highs.

The price of gold has risen 16% in the last month to $530/oz and is likely to go even higher in the near future.

Yep..... I think the price for 1 Baht of gold was 10,450 Baht this morning (I was on the Yammy, so saw it as a blur )

And you won't believe this.... they are selling more gold in the local shop than they did six months ago.... the reason..... "well, this cost me xxxxxx Baht"

It was 10200B on 6th December,so it's an indication of the way things are going.
The gold shop chappie kindly offered to hold madam's next desired ha baht purchase at that price for a couple of days. He also predicted prices would continue to rise until Chinese New Year.

Im well happy about the rise, may has 2 baht gold hanging round her neck which today has a resale value of over 20,000baht not bad for an initial investment of only 8,000baht 2 years ago!!!

Now all i have to do is convince her that we need to sell it to sponsor a serious drinkathon for when i9 go to see thad in Buriram....when he answers his phone that is....AHEM
