I have just read the article in the Telegraph and wonder oldoldgit whether you have read the same article???? It all seems so positive to me, and rather than anyone packing up early for Christmas, it sounds like a lot of hard work has been done, as still is!

My wife Nat used to live and work on Phuket, teaching in the Government college there. While living there she attended an old-established Christian Church. At the time of the tsunami we were in Thailand (in Phitsanulok about say 400 miles away from the waves) but Nat was on the phone to her friends and colleagues in the Church and the college. Luckily none were injured or badly affected. (The college where she used to work got a small amount of water damage but that soon subsided.)

The Church in Phuket Town extremely busy for the next few weeks and months helping those who who had not been so fortunate.

I think you have tweaked it as I could not open it, that's why I said he's packed up early for Christmas. I only read the Times.
