I'm not sure if any members have been following this story over the past couple of years. The article featured on the front page of BBC News Online today.

It had a big affect on the Thai community in SW England. I remember seeing all the tributes at the temple in Wimbledon.

A very sad story indeed. Rest in peace young Nuttawut.

Thanks, I saw the story too. I know several people who went to the funeral. Teriible thing, but at least the killer will be locked up for a substantial time.

Not long enough. Sentenced to only 18 years and he has already done 2 of them. Prison is too good for him....

He was actually sentenced to life imprisonment - with a tariff of 20 years, that means he cannot be considered for parole until he has served at least 20 years. He has spent 2 years on remand pending trial and sentencing so that will count toward the 20 years.

This is a very severe sentence, many who get a 'life sentence' often only serve 12 or so years - this lad will serve a minimim of 20 years.

Wouldn't be surprised to see an appeal against sentence.
