Power line in puddle kills tourist.
A Briton was electrocuted when he stepped in a puddle concealing a power cable while on holiday in Thailand.
Scott Mitchinson died after collapsing on the street in the Pattaya area of Bangkok.
The 30-year-old was walking to his hotel with his girlfriend when he got caught in a heavy rainstorm.
Those who were near him could do nothing to help for fear of electrocuting themselves. Mr Mitchinson, from Sunderland, died of his injuries.

blimey that is bad luck Frowner
not surprising in some ways, the thais have a bit of a lax attitude to electrics.
Very sad news, my sympathy to his family

On a personal note, When i had my bungalow built we left a chap to do the electrics and went mad when i got home, it was damn right dangerous!! he was kicked off the job and i had to get it all redone

Unfortunate choice of words:

As soon as I saw the headline I knew it would be Thailand. It seems to be pretty common. I remember one guy being killed in a phone box and a little girl being killed by an electrified hand rail on a bridge over Sukhumvit when I lived there. horrible.

I suppose it was the "Pattaya" in the heading that gave it away Big Grin

Apparantly he was impatient to get home and insisted on wading through the water and his wife/gf had to enlist a baht bus to drive in to recover the body. Bet that was a good price however RIP to the Guy.
