Lee, know anything about this (from 'The Fiver'):

quote:
The Thai FA has axed its entire 28-man national squad and plans to choose a better one soon. "It's not a big change," understated the FA's secretary-general, Worawi Makudi. "I am done with the job. I feel as if someone has kicked me in the teeth," responded angry Virat Chanpanich, the team's manager.

Can't say I've read anything about this on www.thaifootball.com or any other place for that matter GTG.

But I must say that the idea of my team Wrexham doing the same is inviting! Nod

Any team would be better than the current Gers squad.

They're welcome in Glasgow.
I reckon they'd give Celtic a run for their money.

Now I just need to sweet talk the ECO!

I think there is more chance of a rock attending the blood transfusion clinc Mad.

I know mate, DS is a top bloke Thumbs Up

In my defence ... I did say I'd be happy for our 28 man squad to be axed, I never mentioned the boss, but the team are are doing very badly at the moment ... the conference is looming ... and, well big Dennis did buy the players!

I fear it won't be long before he is given the dreaded vote of confidence, especially if we loose at home to Stevenage in the FA Cup this weekend Cry

Cheers

I think Keano is probably planning on doing exactly that at Sunderland come the January sales!

Fond memories of life under Dennis (with Viv Busby) and I hope he survives. Has his namesake, Kevin, been playing for you since we loaned him out?

He is playing GTG, but very poorly, as are the rest of the lads. Kevin was subbed at half time on Tuesday!
Too many injuries have forced us to take on a number of loan players who sometimes have barely met their team-mates prior to the game, there is just no understanding at the moment.

Team to be revamped with younger squad
TOR CHITTINAND

In an abrupt about face, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) has scrapped the national squad which was announced only last week and says it will name a new, younger squad shortly. This does not affect the team preparing for the Asian Games team which is a separate squad.

Last week, the FAT announced a squad of 28 national players including the return of veteran stars Kiatisak 'Zico' Senamuang, Tawan Sripan and Therdsak Chaiman.

This squad was to play in next month's King's Cup, the Asean Football Federation Championship (formerly Tiger Cup) and the Asian Cup.

President of the FAT, Vijitr Gertkaew, said at the time he was delighted to have Kiatisak and Tawan back saying they had great experience and were still fit enough to play. Kiatisak also said he was happy to be back.

But this week the FAT suddenly disbanded the squad saying it included too many veteran players and was not suitable for next year's three big tournaments.

Reports that the FAT did not have the budget to pay the squad and coaching staff could not be verified.

FAT secretary general, Worawi Makudi played down the changes.''It's not a big change, we just want to put the best players together, that's our aim,''

''We want to make sure we get the best out of everybody, and one of the reasons for the change is the players' age.''

Deputy president of the FAT, Vorawut Rojanapanich said what was needed was a good mixture of experienced and young players.

Vorawut also announced the King's Cup would now be cut back to four teams _ Kazakhstan, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand.

Originally it was hoped that eight teams would participate in the December 20-30th tournament, but it made the schedule too tight.
