Funny that's what the wife says.Wink

Nick if you stop deliberately misconstruing everything I write then maybe there would be no need for me to question your intelligence Help

As to the alcohol ban I have not suggested they don't have the right merely that commercially its a pretty stupid policy.

I would visit personally even with the ban in place as I go for other reasons.

I know many others who visit Thailand for a fun holiday which includes drinking in bars and who book holidays in advance and they would be put off by the ban. Given that emerging holiday destinations e.g. Cambodia Malaysia etc are in direct competition the ban is a commercially inept idea, especially as they have to pay to fix the new airport.

Not misconstruing, deliberately or otherwise, simply disagreeing and challenging. Not everything you write, merely some of it. That this causes you to question my intelligence is indicative of a problem; a problem you have, not me.

As for the rest of you post, you are simply repeating yourself. I have nothing to add to my earlier comments.

Boring, boring, absolutely boring. I've already asked nicely. Last warning to you two, any more and it's holiday time until 2008.

If you want to carry on please use the PM facility.

Please don't do that Tobias, it is like watching your mother in law in a naked mud wrestling fight with Giant Haystacks; you know you shouldn't but it is hard to turn away. Wai

Nick get off your high horse .i do not drink much at home, but for sure i would drink every day of my holiday ,and I think it is is a disgrace not being able to get a drink .The Thai government should hand out refunds to people who booked their holidays under false pretenses .it is not western arrogance .If it was a country that did not drink ,i could understand ,then you would be stupid for booking a holiday if you intended to drink .Good that it does not bother you losing four day not being able to do what you believed you would of been able to do on your holier than though family holiday .

i think this will affect first time visitors to Thailand that might of returned had they not had four day of their holiday stolen away from them dictated what they can an cannot do.

Thailand Plc has got to learn they have competition, and need to improve their game, they cannot just bank on the increasing number of Chinese tourists ,the western tourist is till important.Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Laos. The competition is there.

Time to stop being, so anti farrang ,I know their is some bad tourists but at least try and cater for the good ones and give them what they are promised .There is no need to stop farrang from drinking .They are not going to go out protesting about the s t government .

Didn't work for me...

I was there and was unaware of the ban until a few days before but then again with great planning (read nagging from the missus) managed to miss the first drought by being in Laos and dinning on Beer Lao.

Was in Pattaya for the second one but our friendly bar boss in Best Friend Bar 8/9 had organised a party at her houses so was even better than a night in the bar as free booze all day/night plus could swim and eat (not at the same time) as well, what ban Big Grin!!!! bliss Wink.
