I think Pattaya is horrible but I would defend to the death the right of others to enjoy it.

How did we get onto this topic?

Hello IanB

You should know you started it all off in your post of the 24/011/07

how can people slag off pattaya who have never been there???? of course you get bad people and bad places, but you do everywhere, LONG LIVE PATTAYA, FOREVER

Pattaya obviously brings out strong feelings in people. Personally, yes I have been there, and my opinion is that it is the worst place I have ever visited anywhere in the world, and no, I shall not be visiting again, ever!

They are in pattaya precisely because they can play the cool golf playing expat during the day and the sex tourist at night when their wife thinks they are out with pals for a drink or two and relive the days golf.

I don't post much these days but have to say:

you don't know women( regardless of nationality) very well do you? If that what 'they' are doing it's not going to take their wives very long to work it out/or be made aware of the fact. It may be that the wives choose to accept it or are even forced to ignore it or even don't care but I don't think that they'll remain unaware of it for very long.

Subjective view OK! I've been to far worse places and far better. Also as I've said before Pattaya is now way too big a city to be easily judged.

Have you been to Miami John? IMHO a city of two halves. How about Sao Paulo, from luxury to filth and crime like you wouldn't believe! London, Paris, New York? You name them, all part good and part ugly. How could one judge Bangkok as good or bad? It is so vast it contains everything.
