A While ago I asked in this forum about the cost of a text to LOS and the charges that telesavers charge for a phone call. Jack said it cost about 24p for a text.
I had my bill a few days ago from Orange and the texts cost me 12.8p each and a 2 minute 8 second call with telesavers at 2p a minute cost, 26.7p, so they are charging roughly 24p a call, which is not to bad. Not sure if it goes up the longer you chat? While I was talking to billing at Orange tonight about a query I had, the girl said ''I see you make a few calls and text to Thailand, would you like £5.00 free text and calls next month'' Cheers/Kob Khun, Ron-Tik. |

I've noticed the same on the last 2 bills. Orange have really done some work on the international aspect. Has got to help as they were starting to lag behind. Still a bit pricey if you use roaming, Jack |

Remember that this cost is exclusive of VAT. (i.e 15p each incl VAT). Only a little bit I know, but it soon adds up. International texts are not included in any text bundles. Personally, I send quite a few texts everyday to the missus so to have them included as prt of my bundle, I did the following: 1. Got hold of old crappy phone. 2. Got hold of Orange Pay as you go SIM 3. Enabled International Roaming on SIM 4. Took SIM+phone out to missus on previous visit. I can now text her and all texts are part of inclusive minutes (there's no incoming charge for texts from UK) Only worthwhile if you send quite a few texts but I reckon it's worth it as there's no maintenance cost. Packpao P.S. I think the Orange PAYG SIM requires activity every 6 months so she just makes a local call on it. |

If you text quite regulary to LOS from the UK then why not consider this...I was being charged about 25p per txt on Orange. I found the cure was to give my other half an O2 sim card. Now to txt a UK sim in the LOS is included in your free text allowance (As its a UK mobile number) or at least chargeable as a UK text if you dont have free txt allowance.
