Anyone tried this from Telestunt:

(Look under Latest News)

Sounds too good to be true - looking for the catch.

1. You're subscribing to a premium rate text number - something that I'd personally never do (especially at £5 a whack). Is it a one-off £5 or weekly/monthly? It doesn't say

2. When does the £5 expire? 1 month after first use? It doesn't say

3. I guess they'll expect that a proportion of people will forget or never use up the £5 credit.

Don't forget that the 020 number you have to dial will come out of your mobile's inclusive minutes.

If I were you, I'd go for a service like 18185 which is a more transparent, goes on your credit card (so gives you protection), itemisation (monthly bill) and you don't have to give them any money up front. (it works from your mobile and home phone)

Packpao,

I think the £5 expires when you use of £5 of calls - 500 mins @ 1p per min. Its £5 a hit - you buy £5 of credit.

You could have a point about using up the inclusive minutes - I'll try to find out.

I can't use 18185 - long story, you may have seen my post about it and 18866.

I tried the 18185 service for the first time yesterday. Noted that although they advertise 4p + 1p/min for both fixed and mobile, the charge is actually 4p + 2p/min. I have sent them an email asking them why they are not delivering what they advertise.
My current provider is easy dial who changed their rate to 6.9p but continued charging me the old rate 9p. When I raised this with them, they reduced my rate and credited me for the extra I had paid over some months.
The point of this email is, check your rates against what is advertised. Its only coppers, but it makes a difference if you call a lot, and the most important thing is that they should deliver what they advertise.

Wolodymyr, who is your line with? They advertise 1p per minute from a BT line, 2p per minute from all other providers.

Thanks Nick, you have the reason, I noticed just now that you already said it in the other post on 1p phone calls. I'm with Telewest. Apology due to 18185 as they are delivering what they advertise after all. Cant grumble as going to 18185 cuts my bills to 1/3 of their previous cost.
